This curriculum has two different modules: one online and one on-campus with a 10-month full-time residency at MIT campus (MASc-SCM). Admission Requirements:
For admission, MIT asks for 2 years of relevant experience. Relevant and professional experience plays a huge role in the admission decision. Apart from that, you need to submit –
- Transcripts
- Resume
- Statement of objective (a short essay in 500 words)
- 2 Letters of recommendations ( one should be from an academic supervisor and one from your professional workplace)
- A 2-minute video statement introducting yourself
- IELTS/TOEFL
- GRE/ GMAT is preferred. However, if you complete SC0x – Supply Chain Analytics module with 85% or more marks, you can use this score instead of GRE/GMAT. This requirement is only for residence program. The online microMasters do not have these requirements.

As this is a STEM-designated program, you can get 3 years of OPT to work in the US, after graduation from the residence program. This is not applicable for online masters program.

edX micromasters:
This is an online edx-MIT joint micromasters program. Even though it is online, the degree program is based on actual MIT classes, thus the assignments and tests have identical difficulty levels. So, these five module courses could take up to 1.5 years. Getting a good grade adds value to your profile and can help you advance in the admission process. However, it does not guarantee acceptance, but it raises the likelihood over someone who does not have the same degree. Also, if you come from a different background, doing this program will help you become acquainted with the subject. Furthermore, if you are unable to gain admission to MIT, this course will assist you in obtaining admission to any supply chain concentration MBA program in the United States. Also, if you have this microMasters certificate, instead of 10 months, you can complete the residency within just 5 months.
The cost of this micromasters is 2000 USD. It consists of 5 graduate level modules including advanced courses such as machine learning in logistics. These courses are taught by MIT lecturers and course leads. You do not need separate admission for this online course.
